No, you have to have chicken pox in your system to get it. If for some reason you do get, get anti viral treatment immediately or it wont go away.
If the blisters leak and you got the fluid on you, I think, I had shingles on the face, worse pain I have ever been through
I believe you can..though I don’t know for certain. My oldest got a shingles rash after being around my grandmother who had shingles. She was 8 at the time, and to the best of my knowledge had never had chicken pox. But the Dr. told me the rash she developed after the visit was a shingles rash. Hope that helps.
Depends, where they being treated for their Shingles? Yes, you can get it…do they have Shingles from stress or Chicken Pox?
Hi Jazzz,
I’m sorry to tell you that Varicella virus is highly contagious. In hospitals, we put shingles patients on contact isolation. The virus is potentially shed onto everything that comes into contact w/the patient. Even wiping down equipment thoroughly w/alcohol isn’t sufficient. It’s too easy to miss some that way. If you’ve never had the vaccine. Now is a good time to call your Doctor. Good Luck.
